How to set up an email account in Windows Mail?

This tutorial will guide you step by step though the process of setting up an e-mail account in Windows Mail (based on Windows Mail 6).

1. E-mail Account in Windows Mail Step #1

In Windows Mail, go to the Tools menu and click on Accounts.

Click on the Add button in the upper right.

In the Select Account Type window, double-click on E-mail Account.

In the Your Name window, type in the name you want your recipients to see when they receive your e-mails, then click on Next.

In the Internet E-mail Address window, type in your e-mail address, then click on Next.

In the Set up e-mail servers window, enter the e-mail server information as shown below.

Incoming mail server (POP3)
Enter POP3 (incoming) server. This will be in the form of mail.yourdomain.co.uk. Let's say your web address is www.thisismydomain.com, then your POP3 server will be as follows - mail.thisismydomain.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
This one is provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Depending on who is your ISP, the value will be different. To see a list of SMTP servers for ISPs in UK, please click here.
Please note, we used in our example mail.btinternet.com, which is one of BT's SMTP server.

In the Internet Mail Logon window, enter your e-mail address and password for your e-mail account. Click Next.

On the setup confirmaiton page, click Finish.

Congratulations! You have successfully set up your e-mail account in Outlook Express. You should now be able to send and receive e-mails using your e-mail account with Kiswebs.
